Pet focus

They there. I am a new player and have been reading about pet focus. How does one aquire them to make my pet a higher level? Is it only raid gear? A spell? Basically how does one go about finding these things. Is there a specific level to use them or can it be used at early as level 1. Thanks for the responses.

the lowest level pet focus is the encyclopedia necrotheurgia (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=11571) from the plane of hate. it works on pets level 48-60. the next focus up is an augmentation from LDON, which probably isnt a realistic goal, meaning the next feasible focus is minion of darkness, which can be found on 4 bazaar-able items. this is a list of them (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemswitheffect.html?id=4407). two of them are from DON merchants, but you can purchase the crystals to buy these items from the bazaar.

Minion of Eternity comes from The Sweeper, and it's higher than Minion of Darkness, generally goes for 25k or so on my server.

Weird question. Totally don't understand what you are asking. However here's a shot..

Pet focus is a worn effect, that only works the very instant you create a new pet via summoning from a spell. There are no focus messages such as normally displayed with spell focus i.e. xxx glows with power, etc - your proof of it working will be tougher pets, higher min/max hits. Once the pet is alive, the pet focus can be removed and bagged in favor of a more favorable item. That pet will remain in it's focused state until it dies. Re-equiping the pet focus (or higher level focus) does absolutely nothing. It only works the instant a pet is created.

If you have suspend minion 1 or 2 - it doesn't matter. In order for your pet to be focued, the focus item must have been equiped when you created the pet. Equiping focus then unsuspendin does nothing. Likewise, suspending/unsuspend does not erase your current pet focus level (if any).

The pet focus works for particular summon pet spell levels, as depicted in the details on lucy spell parser. The level range = summon pet scroll level, not actual pet level or your personal level. Example: at 80 if you equip an item aug'd with the LDoN obtained Diamon Prism of Companionship and summon your 80 rogue pet - it will focus nothing (min=59, max=70). However, if you summon level 70 Dark Assassin or level 59 Emissary of Thule - both and any in between will be focused.

Dentriks Dementia is a fairly easy one to get (provided you can get a group in the pit in Valdeholm. The lvl 71 requirement stinks, but it's good up to lvl 75 pets.

I looted this one early and kept it banked until lvl 71.

The DoN augs, as mentioned above, would be another route. (possibly the cheapest, depending on the price of the sweeper on your server, note however they are different lvl of pet focus.)



If I had found a sweeper earlier in my necro's life i probally would have bought it.. the level req is 65, where dentriks is 71.
