Percentages on life, exp, aa, mana. A compass that shows the little blue line for Ldon/gates expeditions. Vital/stat info without going to inventory, I pet window that shows buffs. Hotkey pages, possibly a few inventory and slots(bag/items), I nice spell bar and book...lots of skulls and shit is good. An MP3 player that works, hmmm....imo futuristic ones don't really fit into being a necromancer, so i like the old/gothic looking ones more, a cool spell book, and buff icons are good ideas too.

Timers for LIch and pet buffs, timer for dmf would also be nice. A cursor that can't hide, very important when we have to help or do crowd control. Having everything at the bottom of the screen makes looting more difficult. what Jeb said too :). And don't make the spell book and spell icons huge! though sometimes its nice to know the name of the spell they have casted on you (i.e. what buffs you have, don't take up the whole screen to show it. ) I like my spell bar next to my group and pet stuff, for fast casting with my mouse if I'm in middle of a tell. Thats all I can think of for now.

Horizontal buff list and songs with numbers are nice. All the inventory bags for clicking. prefer to have wrist legs bp boots and the pri sec rng all shown too. + - loc compas is nice as well.A digital timer counts from 89 to 0. oh and buffs and spellbar have the names of spell next to them makes it nice. all i got atm) hope it helps.

Hello there , I have been using several different GUI's of late and the things they have in common (which is probably what drew me to these) are: Spell bar WITH Spell Names ( too many icons are the same ,makes life easier), Same with Buff bar but less important. I wish my buff were Horizontal though. Small map size (the common one takes WAY too much screen area. Player Stats and resists Without opening Inv. window.Bags and slots shown on side for use in "clicky" situations like having instant use of SoW potions, etc. These are a few of my Favorite things that I think help a Lord of the Dead (Necro) out .
SInce you are familiar with the GUI offerings on THE Gui site...you realize what I think would be the BEST GUI would be a melding of SARS and Lodi-Dodi...wish you luck in making yer new UI and please post us a link to it if you mean to share it with your Necro brethren. BTW I like the DARK Black color used in SARS Far more than that putrid color in Lodi..wish I had the know-how to do a proper Gui..sigh , but alas I am Graphically Challenged <_<

PS: BTW I believe all the Fancy artwork (other than IN the spellbook) is sort of a useless distraction ...One Necro's Humble opinion ;)

As a 34 year old father with a teenage daughter I will agree. You should put your effort into your homework and studies. EQ can't carry you through life. Just get home do the work and then its done go relax and play EQ. I would and have done the same thing as your mom did when my daughter brought home a D.

No sympathy here either!......You need to realise guy, studies are number one!
You may not think it at the moment, but you have careing parents who what the best for you. So knuckle down and get those grades up ;) ;)
Look forward to seeing you on again in the near future. :) :)
Oh! and i'm a 60yr old parent who did similar things as your parents, to get my son on track for university (he's in his 3yr). It may not seem like it to you. But it's called "Love" :) :)
Hey! i'm sure you will make it. Just hang in there guy. :) :)

Geez we are an elderly lot here aren't we!
I agree with all the old crock's comments :P but on a positive note, if your xml and graphic skills are up to creating a new UI then you sure have something going for you. Just remember, nobody will give you that dream job if you flunk school :D
err.. Yes another 40+ here, so I will cease the lecture forthwith!

DING 28...errr years old here  . Having a 9, 8 and 2 year old I am just starting the YOU MUST do your homework before you goof off thing, but I agree with everyone else...you will regret it later if you waste your time now. So dont

Arch, dont listen to any of these people. I promise that if they had EQ when they were in HighSchool they would have had just as much trouble if not more.

And it was called "Dungeons and Dragons," "Gamma World," and "Shadowrun." And it cost more than EQ did, overall. BUT, you could quit paying and keep playing.
Quite honestly, between sports, gaming, work, and girls... well, I'm quite glad my own parents put their foot down when they did.
As an employer, although I'd love to have a supremely talented artist working for me, I'd choose an average artist who showed he was able to consistantly follow through and complete things as promised.

I am old.. but not so old as to only have had pen and ink. I am 44 but was around at the start of all electronic games with Pong, RS Color computer games (some loaded with cassette tape) like bedlam. Then later defender, space invaders, donkey kong, pacman, centipede, etc..
Even before that, I had bought an electromechanical game that I later put in my first sons room. Now if you haven't seen one of those you are missing ALLOT! :-) Mine was a shooting game. The arrangement was a motor spun a wheel with targets on it at the bottom of the housing (which was about 6.5 feet tall). The image was reflect back at you by an angled mirror. The target was aligned to the gun under need the gun mount. Essentially there were metal studs imbedded into the bottom of the gun mount board. Each of these studs had a wire connected to them. When the gun pivoted on it's swivel, it would make contact with one of the studs under the board. If that stud lined up with the target that was spinning at the bottom of the housing when you pulled the trigger an electric servo would drop the target at the bottom and ring up the score according to how much it was worth.
In the back of the housing was a good 40+ relays about the size of your hand. The game made ALLOT of noise because everything was mechanical. If you got an extra turn a metal hammer on a servo would whack the back of the housing from inside and ring a metal bell.
Whirring... popping... clacking.. clanking.. lol..! Some of the earliest pinball games were like that.
I sold mine because it weighs easily 200 lbs. and when I was moving I just wasn't up to the task to do it then. I sold it for $250... It was worth probably $2,000 to $5,000 then.. and now I would imagine it is getting close to $15,000 just because of how good a shape it was in and how rare the game was... stupid huh? lol.

Ink?!? What is this ink thing you speak of?
Its that stuff in the little cartridge that you stick in the printer to make the letters show up.......
Just thought I would enlighten you. :D
Anyway yep the good ole days of pen and paper roleplaying and hearing how it can cause you to have suicide if you play to much. Sigh memories.

Anti-light rolled his first character and then sometime shortly afterwards the "smart" tribal guy invented fire....... and then promptly burned to death.

Heh, I had a $200+ collection of AD&D books, et al. Honestly, I can't begin to count up the hours my brother, friends, and myself played D&D.
As a side note... how many of you remember seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles advertised in the AD&D modules a long long LONG time before they ever became a cartoon* and such? ;)
* Cartoon as in animated on TV Saturday mornings.

Actually, the question is not whether we had EQ or not, as there has never been a shortage of ways to avoid schoolwork and get crappy grades for the enterprising teenager. It is actually about the fact that a GOOD parent will take corrective action and in past years, would do what your mom did, and also get a good ass-kicking so that the lesson sinks in a little more
Good Bless my mom for that :D
