I have done the shop twice (thanks Doom, your write up broke up the room just like you said), and now I'd like to give the Theater a shot. Anyone do this room solo and can give me any pointers on entry, position, splitting, etc. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks !

I find just getting into the Theater the most nerve-wracking part. When you run up the ramp in the golem yard, you will come to a ledge that has 4 undeads on it. Be careful because they all see through ITU, but because of the tiny aggro radius on Veksar mobs you won't aggro them when you get up onto the ledge.

This is how I get into the camp spot:

Mez the two left-most mobs, run to the left and down a ramp. This will put you on the stage of the theater. There is one mob in the middle of the stage, but doesn't pose a problem. I jump off the stage and FD in the corner at the foot of the stage. I stay FD until I get the "enemies have forgotten you" message. If I don't get the message, I just stay down a LONG time. Alternatively, you could always /q out.

From that point on it's just simple killin. You can cross in front of the stage if you want without aggroing anything. I personally prefer setting up in front of the right hand side of the stage (that's right hand, if you were in the audience facing the stage, it would be left side if you were on the stage facing out....does that make sense?)

Everything there is single pullable. I've only had an add one time, and that was totally due to my stupidity.

The mobs are a bit tougher than the shop area for sure. I think they range from lvl 59-61. The shamen mobs cast Bane of Nife, which hurts a lot. Be sure to have ToM up.

Hope that helps. I usually don't bother with Theater unless everything else in zone is camped, but it's not a bad place to hang out.

I go through that ledge with word of terris, charm the closest one, put rune of death on and "send in the gimp" so-to-speak. Then again, I hunt differently then most so /shrug, mez. run/fd would work to. The commander's are probably the toughest non-named in the theatre, be sure to have good mana for them.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be pulling the ones at the top of the ramp. I'm using my DC pet so there won't be any FD. So, if I got it right, kill the mobs at the top of the ramp, (and I assume just the ones close to the entrance) go down to the stage and dispatch the one center stage, set up in the corner and business as usual. :) I got close last night. First decided to explore the place with invis undead and quickly found out that wasn't going to work when I hit the top of the ramp. Zoned. Then I worked my way back with Spanky ( DC'ed Sentry ). I parked him half way up the ramp, mezzed one, cast shackle, waited til mezz broke. When he came after us, we were doing OK until he feared me. Next thing you know, I'm wandering around the courtyard collecting golems. Finally got control back...zoned :) Gonna get that MR up higher and go back. Just wondered what to expect once inside.

I think one landed a pyrocuor on my there once(with 312 FR)....I found that pretty impressive after I stopped screaming WTF.... There's alot of casters, I wouldn't be shocked if "spanky" got dispelled. The commanders and spellbinders can definetly cast alot of stuff, fear being a favorite of theirs.

Well, I have done the theater a few times now and the only real problem I have is getting dispelled. Twice I have had Virtue wiped before I even got started good. Normally this is more of a nusiance than a problem, just means watching lich alittle closer and not being quite as aggressive so that my pet keeps aggro. However, in the theater, it only takes one mob that just won't quit with the summoning and it's all over. Any advise ? Is there a limit to the number of buffs they will dispell ? Do you load up on junk buffs before going in ? Is that the solution ?

LOL, I got a clicky, an earring I looted from that nasty little Grachnist, but when dispell hits you and you see 3 buffs drop, I'm not sure my little earring does much good. Guess I need 3 clickies huh :)

Gnome ! Welcome to necrotalk :P

I've now gotten in the habit of making virtue my last buff intead of the first.....course, by the time I work my way to the theater with a DC pet, it's half gone anyhow...lol.

Tumi dear. Invest in Child of Bertoxxolous and the LDoN Focus.

Suspend him using Suspended Minion 2.

Get to the theatre's entrance -- the ledge with the four monsters.

Memorize Death Peace, and assuming the monster closest the entrance to the ramp headed down is NOT a Spellbinder, cast Invisi to Undead, and move down into the theatre to set up shop.

Assuming it IS a spellbinder, inch around the corner, and then dash towards it, probably catching aggro as you do. Dart down the ramp, and FD at the bottom. Wait three minutes, stand up, re-invisi, set up shop inside the theatre, and unsuspend the Child of Bertoxxolous. Then, begin pulls as usual. Simple.

With a dumb Dire-Charmed pet, the DC can be dispelled, mobs max out on it tons due to its low level and low defense skill, it hits less frequently due to its low attack and level versus the enemy's high defense and level, and you can't suspend it, so you have to kill EVERYTHING on the way to the theatre, as opposed to summoning, buffing, suspending, and invising up, then running straight to the theatre and deploying a ready-made, already-buffed pet.

Trust me -- much more efficient.

I'm close to 65, but doing aa instead until I can afford CoB. That guy is going for 90k on my server ( very greedy people there ). The issue is really just me losing virtue. I like my DC pet in Veks, and have never had him dispelled. You are right about killing my way to the theater, but it's the same mobs that I have to kill to the shop...that's just the way it goes. I have no problem with the mobs at the top of the ramp at the theater entrance. I park my pet half way up the ramp. I run to the top and do my undead mezz on the middle mob, then run back down by my pet and wait. When mezz breaks, he will come to the top of the ramp and start casting, pet moves in and I slow and DoT. No big deal. I then go straight after the one in my way at the entrance, again, no problem. The two on the right never aggro so I ignore them. It's those stupid spellbinders outside or inside that can dispell. I have learned to deal with it. I am anxious to get and try CoB. I know it will certainly make the trip there faster :) I have lost camps in Veks simply because people have run past me while I was working my way there.

Suspended Minion makes Veksar your oyster.

Buff the pet, suspend him, invisi. up, and deploy him whenever you arrive at a camp. Clear the placeholder/named, loot the treasure, and then suspend him and re-invisi. up. Rinse, repeat. As for Child of Bertoxxolous being 90k ...

... The people on your server are disgusting excuses for human beings. That, or else someone has seen how vicious the new-and-improved Child is, when focused. Rest in peace, focused Level 65 Magician pet. You've been pwned.

Either way -- Trust me, even a suspended Legacy of Zek will slice your camp times in half. As for killing to the shop -- why bother? Suspend, invisi. up, run inside the shop, set up shop near the bottom of the stairs, and split the camp by rooting the shopkeeper's placeholder, slowing the middle spawn when it comes running ( the third spawn won't attack ), FD'ing to allow pet to acquire aggro, standing and slowing the PH, and then killing them both at your leisure, saving the third spawn for last?

Golems are a pain. ;)
