Ok... this kinda crap is really starting to get to me. Even though I am twinked, not everyone is... WHO THE HELL IS GONNA SPEND 1k ON A FRIGGIN LEVEL 24 SPELL!?!?

How utterly stupid of the person was it to even THINK that selling that spell would be a good idea. Yeah, he'll get the money (cause I almost bought it), but I mean WTF? What about those little new guys out there that can barely afforda +2 INT item? I mean REALLY! WTF was this guy thinking!

Sorry, just had to get that out. If possible I was wondering if we could put a rant section in for people who get annoyed with little things like this. It might reduce the amount of topic derailing and boring rants in the middle of good topics =P

Hey, if people will pay it, then he has the right to price it at that. Doesnt mean I agree or support him, and it does screw the newbs, but if he can sell it at that, he can price it at that.

Guess the newbs will just have to find the words on their own and get a guildy or a kind high lvl necro to combine it for them.

Seems like you could easily bring your research to an acceptable lvl with 100p then just make it yourself...The spell cost is AIMED at twinks...you have the money, you dont want to wait or work for it...seems the premium is warrented. You said yourself you almost bought it...The Bazaar is a tool...not a end unto itself. Dont worry about the un-twinked...they would have never even considered paying 1k. They would have gotten the pages and made it on their own...Heheh perhaps its the untwinked who has the spell YOU need for sale...hehe Ironic no?

Had the same problem my first time through with my human necro. I just skipped it and went for 29 pet. No way I could afford to pay 1k.

It took me forever but I got my Research skill up through the Concordance of Research quest, then scrounged up the words and combined them myself. Failed twice but third time was a charm. Finding the words was the hardest part. I had to create 2 additional characters, one Iksar, one human, to search for words in places I couldn't take my main (Dark Elf). The Iksar was especially helpful because there were tons of words for sale from the vendors in Cabilis, since the Field of Bone is right there (and lots of skellies drop words). With the human, I went to Lake of Ill Omen and found lots of words, as several people on this board have already mentioned.

If youre not a rich twink, I would definately reccommend finding the words on your own. Just be patient and check the right vendors frequently and youll find them.

Also you can search for them in the bazaar, sometimes youll find them for sale for 5-30pp each.

Then just find a kind necro with high research and have him combine them for you.

I myself am working on my research skill, its almost 90 i believe.

Anyways this is a great way to make some plat if you play it right, selling the lower lvl research only necro spells to twinks for outrageous prices. Of course if a low lvl necro ever asked me to do some research for them, i'd do it for free.

i just dont want to spend hours and lots of plats then fail does it destroy the words when you fail? my guess is yes, ive never used research before, my 51 druid never needed it, just bought spells

Well... as for the level 24 pet spell... I researched it. Some nice Necro I didn't know was kind enough to give me "words of allure", had "words of possession", and FINALLY found "words of detachment" in bazaar for 5pp. Sad part is that most words on my server go from 100pp to 1k. It really sucks trying to get words in bazaar if you are not a twink. But anyhow, i found out where "words of detachment" can be found... off of shadowed men in Nekutulos Forest. Head down from the PoK book to the bridge, cross the bridge, and then head southwest. They should be in a little obelisl (big dip in the ground) to your right. Believe theyre level 23-27. So you might need a group for this one.

I will tell you EXATLY why he is asking that much. The Words of Allure are BEYOND hard to find. I had my entire guild hunting th stupid things down and then had 3 fails making that stupid spell.

No other <50 level word is anywhere NEAR as hard to find. The level 24 pet is the hardest to find by far and that is why it is so expensive. 1K is too much, but 500p is proably reasonable for the difficulty in getting the components.

Haunting Corpse is a level 70 trivial as well. Unless you are buying the skill up foe Research yuo will kill yourself trying to level it up with word researching. I am FINALLY at 170 in Research and it is a LONG SLOW process. That makes me trivial to level 44 spell making. (Being 50 now and can still fail a level 44 triv stinks).

When i reached lvl 24 i had around 300pp saved up and what i didn't drop on spells i used to buy the words. Generally people are more then willing to help and if they know you are noob they'll sell the words relatively low.
