I Feel So Torn

No doubt I've always had fun with my Necro and always seem to get groups easy, but I've been playing on a separate server than my main because of some new real life friends that I've made since I moved and I started up a Ranger, got to 32 with good gear then liquidated all of it and twinked a monk because a friend of mine was starting EQ. Now I'm starting to wonder about if I should keep playing my monk (monk quests suck =\ ) .. cuz I really liked playing my ranger, was very similar to playing my necro imo (I didn't have a pet or dots, *I* was the pet/dot).. but I love the Feign usages of a Monk.. anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?

I would go with the monk personally.

I would stick with the monk. The Phantom Lull line starts at 35 and will make your life soo much better.

I'm with Skul I'm the opposite of him I Have a Necro Main and a Ranger alt.

Rangers are great very versatile can fearkite (Ok only animals but still)Bow crits are FUN. Sow lots of neat stuff. I've played many alts and my Ranger is the next highest to the Necro. My monk i have'nt played since the Nerf, Nor will I he's at 30 in Limbo.

im a 65 monk and id pick a monk over a monk anyday rangers are boring it seems and not good for anything till eq and am 3 it seems but monks are fun at all times and if people make ya mad u can always train them hehe

Never presonally played a Ranger here, but have a 54 monk and enjoy playing him during breaks from the necro(does not happen much). Rangers seem to have a bad rap, at least from what I hear in game and read in boards........... :ph34r:

Had A Bad rap hell with my ranger I tank alll the time in Ldon better than most sk's and pally's of similar levels. Most have no clue how to Hold agro my hps are most times a little higher. Hell just the other day was in an Adv in MM, And shit hit the fan. Pally puller lol i told em all to Run they did i tanked 4 mobs got through 3 and the last down to 25% before i died. These Days if played correctly Ranger down means the Group got away and only the Ranger bought it.

Aye, that's because the ranger can grab agro in an instant and give the others time to get away to save their own asses.

Truth is, every class has idiots that give them a bad rep. It's up to you as an individual to realize that and ignore the dumb ones. You're also taking everything 2nd hand without having your own bad experience with a class and believing class boards and hearsay. Nice. I have some ocean-front property in Arizona you should buy.

/agree every class has idiots that run down the reputation.........

/disagree I an not taking everything second hand. Ture I have never played a ranger past lvl 8 ( :lol: that was enough for me)....but I have played with enough in groups to see where this popular opinion comes from.

I would go ranger just for the sow :P I find it hard to live without running fast if you don't have access to J-Boots etc.

I find ranger to have more utility and some more "worth" being able to buff and add some utility buff's (atk buffs!).

and you can't beat that Endless Quiver and bow disc for mass damage.

would ask yourself, is FD worth giving up what a ranger can bring? I dunno, I like to cast and such so I would go ranger over monk, I find just being melee a little boring spamming flying kick etc :) just my opinion tho, don't want to upset the monks.

lol sorry for all those reading this dribble just to get my point of rangers are not my favorite toon, and I love playing a necro......Imagine reading that on a necro board. But look on the bright side, I have made a new friend in Skulmar! but dang he not supposed to be reading my post.....now he wont know :blink:
