Which Root?

you know, I was wondering which one is used more....or which one people like better. And after instill do we get another upgrade. Heres what I've been told or know about these spells.

instill is shorter but resisted less, paralyzing earth is research only but last longer. That in a nut shell what I know about these spells. What I've observed is my cleric had instill and it never held long, so I've been using paralyzing earth and not had any problems and seems to hold the mob longer.

Any other thoughts?

It will depend on the situation for me.

If i'm in a group or fighting mobs that resist darkness a lot or simply fighting things when all i need from the "root line" is to get a few seconds to my advantage i will just use our good ol' root.

If i'm doing anything other than that, like maybe root rotting i use PE.

I'm doing this from memory so I may be alittle off...I believe Instill is what we call quick root, takes a 1/2 second less to cast, but doesn't last as long......I use this if I am worried about a snare or DC being resisted, and just need to buy enough time to correct the situation. PE is my choice for root rotting or keeping adds at bay.
