Hey people,
here is a way to get from 39 to 44 in a jiffy. The xp is good, the loot not bad. But whats most importaint, the beach is filled with undead. So get back, relax and get a nice tan while you kill. (you need the LoY expansion)
Here is what to do....
How to get there: The easiest way to get to Gunthak is to get either a wizard or druid to port you to Stonebrunt (the zone with the cute pandas :) ) Else you need to do a bit of running. Take the book from PoK (asuming you have PoP expansion) to Paineel, need to go through Paineel to Warrens, now that place is confusing if you don't have a map and never ran through before, so i suggest you get one, www.eqatlas.com is a good site for maps. Through Warrens comes Stonebrunt. When you enter Gunthak run to lighthouse (can't miss it). From there head south towards the beach. And that will be your hunting ground for a few lvls.
How to do it: First of all, make absolutely sure you have your undead slow (lvl 39 Shackle of Spirit, bought in Echo Caverns) cause if you don't. You will have to go back and do a little running again. The left side of the beach tends to be more populated with undeads than the right side, so i hung out there. Also a few named spawned for me there so that was good. Just a heads up, Erudite spirits shouldn't be killed, they are used for LoY quest spells. The good thing about Gunthak beach aside from being filled with undeads, is that you can single pull almost everything without even trying hard. The aggro range is very small, and even if 2 mobs seem very close, they prolly can be single pulled. Buff your pet with haste and get to work. I pulled with the slow, was resisted a bit at 39, but became more rare as i lvl'ed. You will be amazed at how little dmg your pet takes.
What drops in Gunthak: Platinum (not bad, did get 1cp from a zombie though, guess its not a well paid job being a Zombie under SoE), Gems (black pearls, emeralds, flawless aquamarine etc...), Zombie skins (save them, can be used in pottery), Crate of something supplies (for quest in Erudin, and yes..you need good faction to do it, DE necs can't, believe me i have tried), bone chips (YAY), Cracked finger bones (to spawn a quest in Gunthak tunnels, a few waves of mobs, no to be tried alone), and if you get lucky and get some named zombies you can get some decent items like sturdy wrapped bow and such. Even charms.
Btw, if you get a mage to summon hand of ixiblat for your pet, it can proc them at 39 so that will help a bit
Thats it for now, will let you know what i did to become 49 when times come.
