They are changing the way beta participants are selected - instead of going for first-come, first-serve it is a generic registration and randomized selection.
You can register your account(s) by following this link (https://account.station.sony.com/authenticated/beta/betaRegistration!input.action?betaId=1).
I strongly urge everybody even remotely insterested in participating to do so. For the vast majority of us, this is the only way you can directly have an impact on how our class proceeds.

Heh..they finally got something right. You don't have to stay home for 3 days to get an invite anymore(random). If not for CC or guild invites in the past..I don't think I would of got in any at all. Good change, hopefully the people who take advantage of it will do more testing then spending their time there to figure out how to 'be first' once the expac goes live.
While it may bring people who never could join beta to finally be able to i don't like the random nature of it. Before you singned up and i knew you'll be in ... now you have to wait and get lucky to get picked from a huge pool of applicants.
Sucks.

It didn't work with the people who got in before. At least, it didn't work as well as it should've. The beta process and beta guild selection is how we ended up with dps driving the game..instead of balanced rosters. Hopefully this'll end up being a step in the right direction for the health of the game.

Not much will change with guild beta invites/raid testing i'm afraid, they'll still flag beta guild accs for beta without lotto seing how they're looking for guilds to beta testing.

Honestly though, they need some new class making abilities that make you need more balance. Not having things like the group trials and such from OOW (fear and the coins one) makes me want to grab a monk a shaman a warrior and 3 zerkers/rogues more and going to town.
devs need to make each class an individual class instead of throwing us all into one big pot(mind you some classes seem to float a little closer to the top).

Actually that's kinda contradicting. The ability to make non-standard groups will probably keep the game alive overall, rather then going back to the 'sacred 3' and everyone else.
What we really need is desirability for each class in most situations. Make it so that there's nothing wrong with your zerker/rogue group, but also so that if you have to replace one with a wiz or nec, that you don't feel like you are losing something. That may be what you are getting at though, and I just fail at understanding =/.

I'll only be satisfied when we're all level 85 Human Paladins.

It's funny, they increased out pet dps..so we'd me more desirable in groups. I know..I sound like a hater now, but really..if you knew what devs thought and how they think they've 'fixed' things, you'd be bitter too!
Wizards in groups are pretty cool. I'm not sure where a casual necro would stack up to a casual rogue or whatever though. I'd imagine better, better then a raid necro would vs a raid rogue.

non-raid necros can't lay down enough dots consistently to keep up with "group" (assuming atleast 2.0/anguish quality weapons) geared rogues. I am pretty decently geared. I guess... and with all crit-mana reducing-etc. AAs I still feel like a group geared rogue, and sometimes even monk can out dps me in the long run. sure you will outpase them in a raid situation... but the group situation you just can't dot with good enough dots fast enough without loads and loads of mana.
