Corporate Firewall

Is there any way i can play EQ behind a corporate firewall (which I do not have any control upon)?

Can you access any web site? if not and you are on a proxy that limits you to specific websites, then the answer is no. There may be away to "hack" around that but if your IT dept is any good they will see the increace in bandwith consumption and you will be jobless.

simple answer = no


everquest jumps UDP sockets on you randomly and by server intiation. Most firewalls allow communication whenever it is initiated inside the firewall first. Since it's the serverside that's making the change, you're hosed.


Conversely, this is the problem with Linksys Routers IIRC.

I think youre just asking to get fired if you play EQ at work. Unless you have some rare job where it would be okay to do so. But somehow i doubt that job exists.

I'm using the dialup during lunchtime and it works just fine. Low bandwidth though :(
