View Full Version : Spells resisted
With couple of groups, we did Rage the other night for a Cleric over in Skyfire. Even though we handled him ok, I got one lich cast to stick...other than that, every dot I cast was resisted, and I tried several different ones. It's not like Rage is this terribly uber mob, so what's up with all the resist ? How do you fix this ? I don't feel like I contributed a whole lot to our success. :(

He has a high Fire (of course) and disease resist. Posion and magic mainly for him. And you have to be within melee range.

There's several reasons why that can happen...
1. He's immune to fire dmg spells completely.
2. You have to be in melee range for anything to land at all (also referred to as a "belly caster", due to having to be almost underneath him to land anything on him with any certainty)
3. His resist rates are high, especially for the age of this encounter....your debuff team should of helped with malo/malos, howl of tashan, malosinia, harmony of sound....dropping his resists a ton, after this happens lifetaps, saryrn's kiss, and maybe even a poison should of landed pretty well.
It's really hard to say, what the problem/reasons are behind you getting resisted so much, but that debuff chain probably wasn't intact, or atleast wasn't complete. We don't get "lures" or unresistable spells, but lifetaps, group taps, and taps over time usually land the best. Each encounter is different, I get resisted alot in time about once a month on tallon zek, and then the other 3 times I'll have one or two resists total so it could of been bad luck.
Makes sense, and probably a combination of things, such as backing up and possibly losing range, I was not in melee range most of the time. I also keep pyre in my list so I guess that one was a waste of time. I will assume the shammy was landing his stuff, so I'll take the blame this time. :)
