Why do ceramic shackles of torment

Since its pointles to try and assign value to time played in attaining an item I wont try and argue on that point. However most of you out there that might be trying for the Ceramic Shackles of Torment are probably unable to solo the items needed, even though it is possible. Given that, you will more then likely be paying a hefty premium for the blood/hoof.

Now before I continue this is obviously more tailored for the servers that have outragous prices on the above mentioned ingredients, mine currently is one of those servers.

I dont know how to link it in this text box so all I can do is ask you to look at my magelo (its the "uber sheet" text at the bottom) and my Bracer of the Rujarkian Slave wrist piece.

All this item took to make was time, didn't cost any plat. Does it take less time then the shackles? Maybe, in some cases definately. However stat wise I believe this item to be far better then what the ceramic shackles offer. So with stats and lack of deduction to the bank account this seems like a much better BA4 item.

This aug can obviously be put on other items, but I was looking for a direct alternative to the shackles and feel this is a pretty viable one.

I'm not attacking anyone who has or is working on the shackles at the moment, simply tyring to maybe offer a slightly less painfull alternative.

/agree the stats on yours is much better.. however, the the effect is what makes the shackles attractive, not so much the stats... another thing people like about teh shackels is it is primary/secondary/range usuable (not that u couldnt aug any slot)

I guess the main reason peeps like the shackles is that they just look cool when equipped on primary/secondary.. I have a cleric friend (who has absolutely no use for this effect other than a gimp undead dot) but loves how they look...

Currently I am working on points for my Claws of scion with BA4 aug summoners boon and a 10 sta 10 int aug but that will take some time and there is something pleasurable about saying I soloed the shackles). I realize there are many items better stats and same effect then shackles but its one of those things like epic a milestone for me. I played eq had a few 65 characters and got bored cause all I did was grp with arses and get aa rather have some fun doing side things then power gaming to get every aa possible. Thats just me I guess but when I get my claws the shackles will probably be handed down to my other toons so thats main reason for me. Well now that I bored you back to MMC.

Ahura, that may be the oddest profile I've seen in quite a long time. You go from unguilded to time guilded? Not to often you see that neck accompanied with netted kelp pants...

I've only been time flagged for about 3 weeks now. I've been holding out on ornate silk pants(wouldn't pass on elemental but haven't won those when i've seen them yet) but haven't seen them drop and not paying 150k for them in bazaar. I've not been excited about any of the other types of pants out there so I've been willing to hold on to the antiquated Netted Kelp until what I want comes along. No need to just grab gear for the sake of having something fancy.

I've been in the same guild for a little over 8 months now so I'm not sure why you think I've gone from unguilded to guilded since I haven't been unguilded since level 7 but easy mistake I guess.

I'm in the exact same situation, tho occasionally I can log on to get drops that would otherwise rot...

My bad man, I normally see time and elemental loot (of which you have about 5) go with other time and elemental loot(or Ntov/ST/SSRA/VT)...the velious and groupable PoP items threw me (no idea why). It's just an odd combination like I said.
