I recently had my dmg parsed by a friend....says that it is roughly 1420dps...Is that good? I told him I had other spell lineups that would do more dmg, but he had no extra time to parse them so we agreed to part ways at that point, meeting again at some time in the future. I'll try and have my most dmging lineup when we try again

It really depends on your level, what you were killing, your gear, your aa's, etc.

At the moment, I would consider that pretty bad if I did it but 1500 aas, a bunch of gear upgrades, and 5 levels ago I would have been happy with that.

Also, was it a raid mob or group mob? Most group mobs don't live long enough to really parse well IMO.

Im sry...Should have thought for a sec...Lvl 80, 16.8km, 2804AA. Using latest snare, root( just in case ), Searing2>VPH2>Venonscale2>AGP2>RP2>Siphon2( just in case )....Fabled Ring of Flamewarding{( fire focus[65% to 75] )+(Irae aug:ReaversPyre )}, Necrotic Silk Wristband( poison focus[40% to 80]+[Irae aug:VVenom])

Ah...well I would think you can easily do more...experiment :). And do you not have a magic or detrimental extension focus? Anathema of Life rk2 is pretty much a cheap casting dread pyre, but on magic. Extension can help more then you might think...it makes it easier to stack more dots.

Just to give you an idea; my spell lineup (most of the time for raid):
Lifetap, Searing Shadow 2, Ashengate Pyre 3, Reaver's Pyre 2, Pyre of the Lifeless 2, Kedgefish Venom 2, Venonscale Venom 2, Anathema of Life 2, Dread Pyre, SfB/MindWrack/other utility.

If I'm paying attention and don't get extremely unlucky with resists, keeping all 8 up and throwing in a lifetap or SfB now and again isn't terribly difficult.

Did I miss something or do you only have 5dot+snare ? If so hmm yeah cast more dot.

You are going to get a truer parse if you do it yourself, I have seen parses of my damage done by others, located on a mob we were all hugging and the parses were different than each other, due to each person being on an opposite side of the mob.

It also depends on the situation.

If this is a raid boss, then it is a low parse but if this is a regular kite mob its not too bad as you tend to have your damage spread over a longer time frame as you run and recast vs the condensed delivery on a tanked mob.

aye, especially considering a lot of tanked mobs last as long as your kites and you are willing ot dump all your mana into them.

I usually run 2.8-3k on raid mobs and 1.5-1.6k on kited mobs. I am 80 with 500ish AAs.

*shrug*

all about how long the fight needs to be and how much you are willing to dump in there.
