/alt activate codes

You can activate AA abilities using the /alt activate command. That means you can hotkey AA stuff!

For example, make a hotkey with the lines:

/alt activate 35
/alt activate 128
/rs MGB Paragon of Spirit Incoming!

When you hit that hotkey, it hits the MGB AA, then the Paragon AA, then gives your message to the raid.

Holy crap, can we get a sticky on this? I have been dying to learn how to hotkey AAs. So annoying typing "WTD inc" as I'm casting it and hear the chanter say, "What's WTD?"....sigh.

To you it may be passive, Sir Schaeffer, but not necessarily from a programmers perspective.

From a programmers perspective, i'm guessing that all the AA's are listed somewhere in Sony's propietary source code with their associated /alt activation code, and for those that are purely passive from a players perspective, they are fed into a random number generator with a seed supplied, the seed being what determines the chance of success. For those AA's that are always 'on', or those that are initiated by the player, the seed is gonna be '1', which would force a 100% chance of success. Doing it in this way allows the solution to be generalized, instead of requiring a different soluttion for different AA's.

At least that's this programmers take on what would seem otherwise ridiculous, to have /alt activation codes for passive AA's :-)

In different words: I'm guessing that they process all the AA's similarly, and so they need /alt Activation codes for all of them. Kinda like it's a recognition code, that they happen to let us use in our Hot Keys.

Not that it matters. My mind just picks stuff like this apart. I'll try to make it behave better from now on.

He is saying that for the AA's you click, the variable is always the same unless the conditions are the way the programmers set for you to fail, IE no corpses around for WTD to work etc.

He is also stating that the variables for the AAs you do see as passive, IE dot crits, are always on, at work in the game code that determine your chance of success. Its a mathmatical code, not random or passive in the least.

IE

Active, Succeed if X, fail if Y

Passive, See Spellfizzlercriter5000, if A-Y dont work, Z crap dps.
