Yeah not having the instant gratification of buying the new spell as soon as you ding sucks, but man not having to pay (bazaar prices) or wait for rk2ks of Scorching and SRpyre is worth it IMO.

How many different factions are there in SoD? Anyone found good missions/tasks for faction? I've been working on a few in Oceangreen so far but haven't had time to make much progress yet.

Not sure how many but I've completed at least half a dozen tasks in Tosk plus killed at least a couple hundred mobs and I'm still dubious to the herald of change. Someone mentioned dubious is a range of around 400. Assuming kills are 1 pt of faction each, I'm guessing the tasks are between 10-25 hits each.

And this after FINALLY finishing my Brownie Rebels faction last week for Venonscale Rk 2. *sigh*

I'm actually considering doing the solo / group quests in order in each theme this time around.

I think the goal stated in beta was that completing entire arcs was supposed to get you to a modest level of faction. Also, note that spell drop rates in dungeons/indoors are double that of outdoors... and that regular loot dropping named can/will spawn during a number of the missions.

Completed the Temple of Bertox raid last night. On lockout, it lists it as "unknown event" but you kill a huge Queen insect mob.

In the Void, I was able to purchase Finsternacht Orb Rk. III for 310 Chronobines. I also purchased Minor Dyad Quartz for 45 and Minor Corrupted Quartz for I think it was 30.
