I always turn pet taunt off (not sure if it matters)
I leave pet taunt on when pet pulling. The reason I do this is that when the pet taunts, he gets agro. If he doesn't taunt, he must get a lot closer to the mob and sometimes hit the mob to get agro. For the mobs that hit kinda hard, I'd rather not have my pet in range to be hit at all if I can avoid it - so I leave pet taunt on and hope for a lucky early taunt. [/b][/quote]
I've heard people say that the first thing pets do once they get close enough to be in melee range is taunt, so you can time /pet hold for it. But every single time when I pet pull, my pet will always taunt when he's still standing next to me. The mob acts like it didn't even notice. That is to say, the mob doesn't come running and my pet still has to get in at least one round of melee before the mob aggros.

Also, has anyone noticed that when using the 48 pet for pulling, if he gets stunned, he'll turn around to attack, even if he's on /pet hold already? Every single time in Creator, when I pet pull the defuncts, if he gets stunned on the run back, he'll turn around and start attacking again. I've taken to spamming my /pet hold, /pet back off hotkey now, which defeats the purporse of why I purchased the damn AA in the first place!

True, pet taunt doesn't work from everywhere, the pet still has to be pretty close to the mob. But, any bit of difference with pet pulling helps, and taunt makes that little bit of difference in distance if you're lucky on it.
