  • CoB, Lunanyn, or RoF zone?

I'm back to EQ, and am almost ready to grind my bard/necro combo the rest of the way to 100...

With bard songbot in tow... During VoA I did the best kiting in CoB, and I did a little work there again last night and the exp at 96 seemed to come fairly quickly gaining very roughly two bubbles of regular exp per toon during a lesson burn.

Now that Lunanyn as a hot zone, should I move there?

Should I immediately shoot over to a RoF zone?

Should I just continue with a good thing?

For those of you with a bard, which songs do you use to supplement your necro?

96+ goes quickly in Shard's Landing.

Not much room for kiting, but root rotting works most everywhere. There are a few types of mobs immune to changes in run speed but those can be molo'd (if you are doing kill quests which are highly recommended) easily enough with decent pet focus and especially the highest warrior pet.

I did a lot of the lower 90's in Lunanyn but even with the hotzone bonus I found Shard's to be better 95+.

edit: On second thought, you probably could find a spot to kite here in some areas if that's your style. I can't comment on using a bard as I don't box.

I liked Beasts Domain, but CoB can work well too. I haven't tried Valley since it has been a hotzone, definitely worth it to check it out, the EXP there was decent from what I recall, and if it is double, should be pretty good. Once 98 or so I went to Evantil. Can also do tasks in the lower tier RoF zones for decent EXP if you don't like to just grind it out.

I came back alst month and leveled in up in Lunanyn. I can't recall at what level I moved out of valley but it was the level after the rats turned light blue...I couldnt find anywhere better XP wise after that.

Re Bard: mine is only 90 and silver but I drop Echo of the Orator and then play Arcane Chorus/War March/Aria of the Composer/Song of Suffering in a melody. Whether this is optimal I don't know, but our swarm pet DDs rock with it.

I stayed in Valley till 100 doing undead wraith camp during double xp weekend. XP was simply amazing, and even at 100 half the wraiths were dark blue. Side benefit was since they were Alaran models, I was able to evolve my stone tear here.

Good point, I still got a lot of Alarans to kill for that dumb thing...

Focusing solely on the partisan tasks in shards landing, eastern wastes, crystal caverns and Kael drakkel got me completely through 97 to 98. I was 100% aa's for most of that time too so I got a ton of aa's at the same time. Was prolly the most enjoyable level I ever did and as there was no soulless grinding. I haven't finished the Kael partisan /ach yet as Tormax is too much for me.

                /agree

Doing the partisan quests are the way to go. I didn't begin them until 98-100 (mostly due to ignorance) but they have really increased the fun factor and the XP flows...

I'm gonna have to get those tasks done, sounds like they are pretty decent return on time invested.

Huge area for kiting near underground city, and the frostcoats are very nice xp. They have a lot of hp, but it's well worth it.

I found that doing Merc and partisan tasks solo and molo in plane of shadow, eastern wastes, shards landing got me better xp than grinding. for grinding the Xin Va in PoS was not too bad.
