Both are newbie zones so really start at lvl 1.

    LOIO
From the Cab zoneline outwards has a steady progression of mobs from lvl 1 - 25ish. Lvl 20-25 or so would probably be best done in the goblin caves or the Sarnak Fort where things really starts to Lb/green at around 28-29. For soloists there are the goblins (I assume they are still there?) in the water that would be good solo xp in the mid-late 40's but would probably get boring iirc there are only 6-8 spawn.

Haven't really xp'd there since 2001 so it has been awhile. Sarnak Fort still holds some of my favorite EQ memories. It used to be permacamped with 2-4 groups inside.

Feerott seems like a horrible choice for that range of a hot zone, but I always disliked the place, ever since getting horribly lost as a lvl 2 ogre in 2000...

Current Hot Zones for this level range are:

GnekroeGnomicon basically said it all, both are newbie zones and you really can start at lvl 1 in both zones, although FoB is probally easier for a level 1 than LOIO.

If in LOIO start near cabalis and work your way out, if your not an Iksar you don't have alot of places to run if things go south at lower levels. As you level (around 15'ish) start moving towards the Windmill/Undead camps. I remembe fort being lvl 19+ and you needed a solid puller/chanty because inside the fort was insain for trains "back in the day." With todays gear you probally could have a lackluster puller and still be safe. Moving to the back of the fort gave you higher level sanark's if i remember correctly. And there is a zone line back there if things get hairy.

        Ferrot-
Stay away from the Ogre's if they don't like you at lower levels. Bear's are also deadly! I usually picked on the spider's (spiderling silk, before their loot table got "watered" down) until I could play with the lower level lizards. Just remember lizards have a bad habbit of casting blindness. At least now your screen doesn't go pitch dark when your "blind" like the old days, making you think your monitor went out. At the 20's you can play with the lizards near CT but I would probally pull them away from the Temple, adds are also bad here. And you have Spectre's you can play with over in the corner once your the correct level for them.

In all instances at these level's, Fear Kiting is your best bet. But with todays gear and pet gear w/buff's you could probally tap/tank alot of this stuff. Just find a safe place to fear kite; along the river was a nice place to pull then cast fear. I know SK's used to fear the Lizards near CT zoneline for solo xp "back in the day." Not sure where the best places would be, considering all the pathing changes but in both zones, they have wide open area's to fear kite in for the lower level Necro, just have to find the best place!

I like the area in front of the fort. Wide open area a few wanderers... great for fear kiting. agro kiting too. not sure on the lvl but fun. also along the shore the gobbies in the ruins between the fort and the lake. been years since I have been there... may I will create another necro and lvl him to there.

PS I also had a friend who was in his 70's die in the sarnak fort. he was wasting time camping the key mob there... pulled the entire fort and got smacked down... he has not lived it down to this day.
