I'm not sure if this is a common technique or not but it works really well with the undead in The Hollow.
Make your camp along the wall across the from the barn. Park your pet there and make sure taunt is off. Pull a mob to your camp with darkness, and if you get far enough ahead of it DoT it as well. When the mob is at your camp cast Spook the Dead (make sure your back is to the river, you're facing towards the CR gate, and make sure the mob is in front of you. Hug the wall with your right shoulder.) The mob will run away from you towards CR. DoT him again (Darkness, Heat Blood, and Poison Bolt {the level four DoT, not positive on the name} do this well). Stay at your camp and meditate. Fear will break before he hits the gnolls at the far end, and he will come trudging back. Recast Spook the Dead, make sure Darkness is always on the monster, rinse and repeat. I called this yo-yo kiting because the monster runs back and forth.
ALSO: If you can research or have a friend that can the spell Hungry Earth is awesome against the undead here (the only dropped item needed is a Raw Hide and it drops from skeletal ogres, and be sure and save the rawhide armor and zombie skin you get here for spell research). If snare is resisted on the pull, get the mob close to your camp and send pet in. Since you've done no damage pet should get aggro easily. Root the mob and spam /pet back back off. Once pet is clear immediately get the mob snared, and then fear and dot as you can. Without the Hungry Earth spell either cast darkness until it lands and hope your pet survives or stack your fire and poison dots on him to get aggro and tap tank while trying to get a snare off. Not ideal, but works in a bind.
This area is awesome exp and has good loot, Woven Crescent Robe is a darn nice item.
